Hi,
I am working through a trial of Jira + Grasshopper, it would seem that onDemand is currently at version 4.4.1 (http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Atlassian+OnDemand+Application+Versions), yet the documentation hints that a much higher version of 5.8 is available (http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GH044/Using+Task+Board+Modes+to+View+Issues).
It seems that some options I am looking for are missing and I suspect that I need to keep to the older version 4.4.1 set of documentation?
Is there a list to highlight what's I'm missing between 4.4.1 --> 5.8 and when is onDemand going to be brought up-to-date?
Regards,
Rob.
You are correct - the newest versions of the applications are not yet running in OnDemand. The full list of application versions is: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Atlassian+OnDemand+Application+Versions
The notes for the new version of JIRA (5.x) are here (but may change when it comes out of beta):
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/JIRA+5.0+Beta+3+Release+Notes
and when you say version 5.8 - I'm guessing you are taking about Greenhopper which will be upgraded from 5.7.4 to 5.8. The release notes for Greenhopper 5.8 are here:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GH/GreenHopper+5.8+Release+Notes
I will check to make sure we start sending out the correct links and when using our documentation (via email/Google search/etc.) always check to make sure the version listed at the top is the one you are using. If it isn't, there will be a link in the yellow banner, or you can select the version on the left hand side and then search for the same doc name. Also we are working on putting a notice on pages when they do not apply to the OnDemand version of the service to further clarify the docs.
Finally, we do not have a date or window for when OnDemand will be updated to JIRA 5 (or any other version updates) but the process is seamless and no action is required on your part.
I can now see that v5+ is RC / Beta, so this explains why perhaps onDemand is 4.x.
However, when all the emails sent through from Atlassian take you to the latest documentation, even though the onDemand is on the previous major version, it adds to confusion.
How long before onDemand is on the 5+ branch, will it be a seemless transition as it's hosted (I don't want to worry about the hasstle of upgrading/patching etc).
Thanks,
Rob.
