Hey everyone,
My team has made over 100 comments in preview mode on a PDF in Confluence. I think they are up to 130+. We get email notifications about them, but can only see the first 100 in Confluence.
Has anyone run into this in the past? Do you know a way to resolve and display all of the comments?
Thank you!
Marianne
Hi Marianne,
That’s an interesting problem you have! There is no set limit for comments, so you should be able to post as many comments as you want/need on a PDF.
I went ahead and tested on my own Confluence 6.9.0 instance to see if this is a bug, but I wasn’t able to replicate.
I’d like to ask a few more questions to make sure I understand:
A screenshot of the unexpected behavior would be helpful if you’re able to attach one.
Thanks!
Rachel
Interesting, maybe I need to upgrade!
I'm on version 6.3.2 - Server
I was referred to this open request, seems like it is an open issue.
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-43397
If this issue isn't happening for you on V6.9.0 then that really is a reason for us to consider upgrading. Thank you!

Hi Marianne,
I'm glad to see my colleague on the support team was able to provide that to you - I was unaware of this request!
After reading the request ticket, I noticed a key step in the process of replicating the issue:
so adding more than 100 will cause these to not be loaded the next time the attachment is opened
This explains why I wasn't seeing the issue - I was looking at the document and could see over 105 comments after I'd added them, but I did not close the PDF. I just went back and reopened the attachment, and it does indeed look like my Confluence 6.9.0 instance is also affected. :(
Even if this specific issue isn't resolved, there's plenty of other bug fixes and benefits to upgrading! :)
