Is there a possibility to highlight different areas of one Gliffy diagram on multiple pages?

Hi,

I've creates a complex Gliffy diagram that describes a workflow. The original diagram is on the main page. Now I'd like to create child pages that contain the same diagram with specific areas that are highlighted (for example changed colors, opacities but no changes in text or position of the elements). Is there a way to do that somehow?

Adding different diagrams that use the original one as a template is not feasible since the workflow is complex and we need a lot of child pages. We would have to edit 10+ diagrams to add one small change to the workflow.

Thanks!

Hello @Weronika Witkowska

I am the Solution Engineer for Gliffy, and unfortunately, Gliffy currently doesn't have a direct feature to create dynamically linked child pages with independent highlighting of the original diagram. This means that while you can copy the diagram to child pages, any visual modifications like color or opacity changes would need to be done individually on each copy.

You could explore a workaround like using layers if your highlighting needs are somewhat structured, and then go into each diagram and turn on or off the layers from the parent diagram. It would go faster that way then rebuilding per diagram. Happy to help you explore this if it sounds interesting!

I would strongly recommend submitting a feature request to the Gliffy team in the link Tobi provided outlining your need for linked diagram views with independent styling. This feedback is valuable in shaping future product development!

Thank you for being a Gliffy customer!

Hi @Weronika Witkowska ,

Not sure if there's anyone from Gliffy to assist you with that here, but you can always reach out directly to the vendor by using their support channels listed here.
They are usually quite helpful when it comes to use case questions.

Cheers,
Tobi
