Is there a way to set a viewport when embedding a whiteboard?

When I embed a whiteboard into a Confluence page, it is often not the intention to have the user scroll around the embedded content.

Users don't like that:

- It stops scrolling through the actual page content they are reading

- the focus (centering of content) of the embedded whiteboard is lost (and must be restored via zoom or refresh)

Personally I would like to also be able to display a portion of the whiteboard in an embed, as some boards contain several steps of a process (eg. Brainstorming + prioritisation).

Hi @Edwin Hurst ,

I believe you can simply select a portion of the whiteboard and then use Copy link to object option, which will actually focus on what you've selected once the user opens the link.

For example, in the examples below, I've used only a portion of the whiteboard and embedded a link to that, vs. embedded the view for the full diagram.

Is this what you're looking for, or did I miss the point here?

Is it somehow possible to have this view fixed? at least until the diagram is actually selected?

Because currently the behaviour is not very user friendly. If the diagram is embedded somewhere in the middle of a Confluence page and i just want to scroll to the end, It will stop scrolling and start changing the size of the diagram as soon as my mouse is over the diagram.

I don't think so. This would probably be a new feature request that's related to embedding whiteboards in other content. 👀

You could check if there's already an open suggestion related to it (check here) and if not, you can discuss your requirement with Atlassian Support for them to open a new one so you can drop a vote and monitor the progress.
