Is there a way to sort or reorder KB articles in Confluence?

Boris Muster (RFID Project) October 26, 2018

Hi there,
I am creating a series of KB articles that would be easier to follow if I could order them in a certain way in the KB page I created for them.  But I don't see any option to filter articles by alphabetical order, or any other order for that matter.
Am I missing something? Any workarounds?

Thanks.

Hey Boris,

If you are using a table you should be able to sort based on alphabetical order:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/tables-136463.html?_ga=2.8530485.1245396845.1540215801-1704423510.1524584199

If it's not an actual table then you'll have to move things around manually.

Hope this helps,

Tyler

Thanks Tyler.
I am using the Content Report Table macro at the moment. And it doesn't seem to come with sorting options.
Is there a way to insert the data pushed through this Content Report Table macro into a standard, sortable table?
Thanks again.
Boris

Hey Boris,

You should still be able to edit the order of the Content Report Table.

Try clicking on the "Title" and see if that sorts your items.

Hi Tyler,
That is the first thing I tried.
When I click on the Title, it only gives me the option to "Add inline comment" or "Create Jira issue".
I don't see any option to sort the items anywhere.
Thanks.

Hi Boris,

Unfortunately there is no way do get a order which reflects the page tree.

By default the table will sort by last modified date, however you can also sort it by any property listed in the report.

Best, Tobias

That's what I thought.  Thanks Tobias!

Oh, so easy.  Thx.  I didn't think of treating them like actual pages.  Thx again.

Ha!  Actually, no, that doesn't achieve what I am aiming for.  I am able to re-order the pages created for each KB article.  But that does not have any effect on the sorting order of the KB articles that appear in the KB table for the How-to articles.  The articles appear to still appear by creation date.  That is what I have been trying to update.
