Is there an HTML editing option for Cloud hosted Confluence pages?

Leslie Martin July 18, 2019

I'm in the process of creating a Confluence page, but there are some things I would like to edit out that I am unable to do with the editing tools present.

Is there an HTML editing option for the Cloud hosted Confluence instances?

Hello Leslie,

Thank you for contacting us about this. Unfortunately, it is not possible to modify the look and feel for Confluence Cloud with HTML or CSS.

See Functional differences in Confluence Cloud for further details:

On Atlassian Cloud, Confluence uses a custom theme that can't be modified or updated using custom HTML or CSS. For more information on custom themes in Confluence Cloud, refer to Working with Themes.

Can you tell me what sort of things you were trying to edit out? Is it just some text on your page, or are you trying to change something else?

Regards,

Shannon

Hello Shannon,

On my confluence page, there is some random text at the bottom of my page that I cannot edit out. I have tried a number of things - but it seems to be tied to all the other text on my page.

Leslie,

Can you let me know what the text is? If it looks like it's something Atlassian put there, like your Confluence version, then it cannot be edited out. Otherwise, it could be part of your footer. See Customize Your Space for more details.

To check that, you would go to Global Settings > Look and Feel > Header and Footer

Let me know if you have any trouble.

Regards,

Shannon
