Is there documentation on Confluence log reading for creating metrics?

Hope Niblick May 25, 2018

The log contains lines that include :: "/docreatepage.action" and "/editor-loader/editor.action" which gives me a clue, but I'm not sure what other actions look like in the log. I am trying to create an engagement metric that will capture how different parts of the population are using the wiki. In particular, I want to be able to identify when a user:

  • just reads a page
  • edits an existing page
  • creates a page
  • comments on a page
  • likes a page
  • creates a space

Is there any documentation that outlines what these actions look like in the log?

There is not. You may want to use something that is more integrated into the app so that your users can benefit from the knowledge you're working to harvest.
