Hi,
I am currently only evaluating Confluence to use in our team, so I might very well be doing something wrong. Hoping for some help with two problems:
On an Confluence Page with multiple attachments I have one tile for a file that is supposed to be deleted that shows up as "Failed to load" - Retry. I can still see the file in the attachments view and it has 0kb and can't be removed. What could I have done wrong?
The second issue seems to come from the Companion App (just guessing):
There is a Word document attached that has been edited via the Companion App. Afterwards it shows up as an empty tile and can't be clicked anymore. The attachment is still fully available in the attachment view, though.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
B.
Hello @Bernd Kaufmann ! As I understand, we have two different behaviors at hand here. Here we go:
- Deleted attachments still show up but as “Failed to load” card
- Files touched by the Companion App become “unclickable”
For the second behavior, we have an already existing ticket reporting it. Here, take a look:
Moving into the first behavior you described, I believe that I was able to replicate it. Here is how:
- Create a new page
- Attach a file to it
- Publish page
- Go into Attachments page
- Delete file directly from there
- Check that previously available file now displays “Failed to load” message
- Edit page again
- Do not remove the file placeholder
- Publish page
- Check that “Failed to load” card is still there
- Click the paper clip icon to go into Attachments page
- Check that now we have a file called “Invalid file ID – UNKNOWN_MEDIA_ID” with 0.0kB as size
Two notes about this behavior:
- I can delete the “Invalid file ID – UNKNOWN_MEDIA_ID” file from the Attachments list
- I can remove the empty file placeholder when editing the page
What I ask from you is:
- Would it be possible for you to check if the file placeholder can be removed while editing the page?
- A screenshot of the Attachments page so we can verify that you see the same thing as I saw (“Invalid file ID – UNKNOWN_MEDIA_ID”)
My workaround to the first behavior was manually removing both the file placeholder and the “Invalid file ID – UNKNOWN_MEDIA_ID” file from my page.
Looking forward to your reply!
Hi Diego_Canto_Rodrigues,
thank you for looking into my issue. I did not check the solution for the Companion App problem, yet, but I tried to replicate the "deleted attachments" issue:
I created a page and attached a simple txt file.
After step 5 the attachments page does not show any files anymore.
I can confirm that I have the "failed to load" tile after step 6.
Funny enough, after step 9 in your todo-list I do not see the "Failed to load" tile, but a different file (a pdf), which is attached to another page in another space. Very strange.
If I then switch to the attachment view, there are still no files.
Hope you can make some sense from this.
Thanks for your support. It is highly appreciated.
Cheers,
B.
