Make Sticky functionality in Confluence

Mick Davidson

Hello,

I'm running Confluence 4.0 and am finding, on a seemingly random basis, there is an ption under Tools called Make Sticky.

This does not appear in all spaces and there is no obvious reason why it appears in some and not in others. For example, some pages have other macros running, but this has no effect on whether this option shows.

Also, there is no macro that I've found that enables this functionality - as one of the senior admins, I'd expect to know when things like this change, so it seems to have happened quite randomly.

Also, I can't find any info on this in the user info, so am not sure what it's actually for.

Anyone got any ideas about why this is happening and what "make sticky" is used for?

Cheers,

Hi Mick,

It sounds like you're using Community Bubbles - https://www.adaptavist.com/display/Bubbles/Sticky+Topics - and the option to make things sticky is available to people who have the appropriate permission - https://www.adaptavist.com/display/Bubbles/Forum+Permission+Management

Andrew.

Yes, you are right, thanks!

I didn't realise this would happen as I'm just setting this up ad skiing up the learning curve.

Thanks.

Andrew,

Thanks again. I'm now following your blog and yourself on twitter.

I'll be launching a new blog on being a tech author using Atlassian products very soon. Will keep you informed of it's progress. :) Were you in London for the Unite day?

Cheers,
