Margins cutting off table text

Joshua Hart-Steeds April 28, 2025

When exporting to pdf from Confluence, some text in some tables is cut off. Sometimes this can be solved by opening the pdf in a browser rather than via Adobe Acrobat, but not always. My team and I have had to export to Word before manually formatting and exporting to pdf to ensure that all text fits in the margins, but this is far from ideal.

Is there any way to ensure that all text and tables fit within the page margins before or when being exported?

Hi @Joshua Hart-Steeds welcome to the community.  I found CONFCLOUD-80966 and CONFCLOUD-75998  out on Atlassian's Jira site which look very similar to your issue.

It seems like it may be related to the zoom of your PC or browser, but I couldn't get a clear explanation from the tickets.

I didn't see a workaround listed for you to try either.

I would suggest voting for and watching them for updates.  I went ahead and voted for them too.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Dan,

I don't think it has anything to do with zoom settings, I should have said initially, this only happens on pages that have been inserted via the 'Include Page' macro, and I believe (but am not 100% confident) that it only happens on pages that have been updated to the latest version/ 'experience'.

Please see the screenshots I sent to John below.

Thanks,

Joshua

Hi Joshua - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Can you provide some screen shots? Also, what browser are you using? Have you tried other browsers or using Incognito mode? Are you using an app/add-on for the export? Or some other method?

Thanks, John,

I've attached a screenshot of the issue. Important context that I forgot to give initially is that this only happens on pages that have been inserted via the 'Include Page' macro. I also suspect that it's an incompatibility issue that's caused by the newest version of Confluence pages (see screenshot 2), as I'm not 100% but I think pages that haven't been updated don't have this issue and export within the margins.

I use Microsoft Edge (for Business) but have tried Chrome and the same thing happens, in and out of Incognito and inPrivate browsing, but thanks for the thought. I'm exporting via the Confluence Export button.

Thanks for your support,

Joshua
