Markdown in Cloud doesn't work for headers

Using Confluence in the cloud.  Just trying to get markdown to properly work for headers.  It works for lists, italics, bold etc. but I've tried:

##Header 2##    and ## Header 2 ## 

Neither works properly.  Nothing happens.  Is this a known bug?

Ok, I did get the markdown to work in cloud

it was ##<space>

and it would take me to a new line, with the text showing up as header 2 styling.

It didn't work 100% of the time though, and I thought it was a bit weird that it would give me a new line to type on.
