Migrate Confluence Data from Server to DataCenter (Not AWS Cloud)

Currently we are using confluence-server software and now we are in process to upgrade server license to Data Center in Cluster-node. Below startup steps has been completed and stuck on last step.

1) Data Center software installation is completed and started server.

2) Choose Your deployment section completed

3) Data Base setup step has been completed and DB connected as expected.

4) Now we have struck on "Load Content" option. Planning to use "Restore From Backup" option.

We have stuck on the last step because we are not sure how to take the backup of all the space from existing confluence single server  to import Data Center server. We have more 100 spaces and very difficult to the backup of each space and import to Data Center.

Could you please advice if we have any simple way to migrate all the spaces from confluence single server to confluence Data Center.

hi Jaggayya, have you found a way to make the transition smoothly?

Still our approach was in-progress and however, we have completed below process and our plan is not disturb current production confluence server instance and clone the similar instance for Data center version.

1) Clone Prod single server content to new server  and ensure new server is up and running same as Prod.

  • Install current confluence Production version (Confluence 7.19.0) software in new server.
  • Copy Home & Attachment directory content from existing Confluence server to new server
  • Created  database/schema and clone the Production data content to new schema/database

2) Upgrade new server Confluence version from 7.19.0 to 7.19.10 and ensure latest confluence version is running on the server.

3) Replace Confluence Server license with Data Center Version in new server

4) Restart Confluence instance and setup cluster.

5) Follow below link to setup multiple nodes. https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/set-up-a-confluence-data-center-cluster-982322030.html

Thanks,

Jags

Hello @jaggayya_allamsetty

Can you provide a link to the documentation you are following?

I think you might need to generate an XML backup, as described in this documentation:
