Hi.
We are going to be migrating from Confluence Server to Cloud.
In our Server there are many pages that have links to them.
Is there any way we can preserve the links so they continue to work OR is there any tool that can map the old links to new links that will therefore work on the Cloud?
Thanks
Shaun
Hello Shaun,
Congratulations on making the move over to Confluence cloud. So the answer for how will your migration from server to cloud honor or keep links is, depends on how said link’s we’re created. If the links were created via the link function within the Confluence editor then the links will be updated. If the links are copy + pasted then those will not be updated.
Ideally, you’ll want to review and clean some of your content prior to migration to help avoid validation issue after migrating. With this said, there is an article which covers how to check your links within Confluence server. This article will only assist prior to migrating and will not be applicable after you migrate. You may find this article at Confluence - How to Validate Links.
I hope this information proves helpful and you’re able to migrate to Confluence cloud without issue.
Regards,
Stephen Sifers
