I'm trying to migrate a Confluence database (including attachments) to the Atlassian Cloud server.
The 'Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant' does not work as it does not support server version 5.7.1.
I've made a backup of Confluence, but it is not possible to restore the backup in the Cloud server (due to unsupported server version)
So, how how do I migrate from server version 5.7.1 to the Cloud server?
Also I wonder why Atlassian makes it so hard for the customers to backup and restore databases. All server versions seem to have incompatible database format (?).
since you're using an old Confluence version, you will need to upgrade to a more recent version in order to migrate to the Cloud.
This is due to the Cloud version having many new features that are only compatible with recent Confluence Server versions.
With Confluence 5.7.1, you should be able to upgrade to the latest 7.x version directly. Of course this means extra work on your end, but once you're on Cloud you won't have to bother with app upgrades anymore :)
Let me know if this helps,

Thanks Alexis,
I'll try to update to version 7.x and then use the Migration Assistant to upload the database to the Cloud server.
As far as I remember I tried to update the server for some years ago, but it failed. However, I'll give it a try....
