Mobile site home page to show dashboard

Thomas Sherman February 20, 2013

We recently upgraded to Confluence 4.3.0. This supports mobile browsers natively. Our organization uses Confluence for our end user documentation. We would like to have the mobile homepage display our Dashboard by default. Instead it shows a Popular/Recent Blogs/Network trio.

How are users supposed to know that they need to tap icon and click Search to find anything?

There is no mobile optimized version of the documentation theme. The default page shown is in the left of the trio below. It only shows Popular pages. Otherwise you need to use the menu/search button to find anything useful. There is no way to view your documentation navigation tree. There is no way to search directly from the front page.

Hi Tom,

Actually the Popular/Recent Blogs/Network trio is the 'default' Dashboard for the mobo version, however you can easily switch to 'Desktop Version' when you click on that button in the very upper left side, you will be able to see your 'standard' dashboard.

I hope this clarify your thoughts.

Cheers,

WZ

Thank you for the suggestion William. I was aware of the 'full site' option, but unsurprisingly it is completely unoptimized for mobile devices. It seems that if you are using Confluence as a documentation product you do not offer an optimized mobile solution.
