I run a personal Confluence on my laptop, and have done so for 10-12 years. Last time I moved it from my previous laptop to a new one running Windows 7 the support team helped me to move it into PostgreSQL 9.2.1. That was probably about 7 years ago and it has run well since. I use PostgreSQL for nothing else. I have upgraded Confluence successfully a few times (without touching PostgreSQL underneath) and it is now at 5.7.
I now wish to move my Confluence instance and its underlying PostgreSQL data across to a new laptop and I figure that at the same time I should upgrade PostgreSQL and Confluence to their latest supported versions.
My laptop runs Windows 10 Pro for Workstations (it is a Dell Precision 7730 with 6 Cores and 32Gb RAM).
Is anyone able to recommend PostgreSQL and Confluence versions that I should install, and point me at any instructions to guide my installations and data migration?
There are few points to ponder,
So, I suggest following step by step upgrade,

In any event, I avoided the need to perform an upgrade by switching to use Confluence Cloud instead.
