Dear all,
We are just testing the native archiving function of Confluence Cloud and some questions came up:
If these functions are not yet in place, are you considering to implement them in the near future. If not, is there any plugin you can recommend for enhanced archiving in the cloud?
For us, it would also be important that you can search for archived pages in the search engine (and not just for archived spaces as it is right now) and also have the option to archive all sub-pages / children.
Thank you very much for your feedback.
Best,
Sylvie
There is not a notification/monitoring structure in place like in better archiving. Confluence cloud does have analytics that allows you to how content is performing. This does require a premium subscription. https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/view-analytics-to-see-how-content-is-performing/
There is no way to set an expiration and the date content was archived can easily be seen when looking at the archived page list or on the page information as the last changed by date.
I am not aware of the roadmap for this portion of the application since nothing is published online. There are a number of feature requests that you can vote for or submit your own here to help improve the application https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-72423?jql=project%20%3D%20CONFCLOUD%20AND%20type%20%3D%20Suggestion%20AND%20statusCategory%20!%3D%20Done%20and%20summary%20~%20%22archive%22
There are a couple of apps for archiving but you would have to test them out to see if they meet your needs https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?hosting=cloud&product=confluence&query=archive
Hi Brant,
thank you for the information.
I do have another question, maybe you can help. With Premium Cloud, does Bulk archiving of pages means that all sub pages of a main page can be archived? Is this one of the options available?
Thank you in advance for your response.
Best,
Sylvia

@Sylvia Mader That is correct you will have to select them. Per Atlassian - "Say you have a meeting notes section in your page tree with notes from the past three years. With bulk archive available in Confluence Cloud Premium, you can select all the meeting notes you no longer need and archive them all at once. From the bulk archive view, you can see the context of the page tree as well as when a page was last updated to help you decide if your pages are stale and ready to be filed away."
