Need help configuring the Confluence Custom Space User Management Plugin

Chuck Minarik September 12, 2014

I'm new to this plugin and am confused by the configuation section "Group Matching/New Group Name Creation Pattern".

There is a box with "SPACEKEY-" in it, but no heading that says what this is for.  Then, there's a box with a heading of "(group identifier)", but no explanation either.

There is an "Examples" section, but I don't see the relationship between the examples and the two boxes that need to be filled in.

Can someone please explain?

The first input box defines a possible prefix for the group name pattern, the second input box a possible suffix. The string (group identifier) is not the heading/label for the second input box, it just sits between the prefix and suffix and is the place, where your actual group name is going.

So this example data:

  • prefix input box: space.SPACEKEY.
  • suffix input box: .exampleSuffix

results in this group name pattern: space.SPACEKEY.(group identifier).exampleSuffix and for

  • Space with spacekey: CONF
  • group name: foobar

in this final group name: space.CONF.foobar.exampleSuffix
