Need to sync up the changes made on the document in Confluence page

Deleted user June 22, 2022

Hi Team,

Below is my use case,

  • A word document is attached to a confluence page
  • Person A and Person B are trying to update it at the same time
  • Person A is providing 2 comments on the document and uploading it using Atlassian Companion app
  • Person B is providing 5 comments on the document and trying to upload it using Atlassian Companion app
  • Person B is getting a notification that newer version is available, but still he is allowed to upload his changes

Impact:

  • If Person B, uploads his changes, then Person A changes are vanished in the document. that is, only 5 comments are visible
  • If Person B, clicks on newer version, then Person B changes are vanished in the document.  that is all the 5 comments should be provided by him again, which will be a rework

So Is there a way where we can sync up those 2 changes in the document?

Hi @[deleted]  Welcome to Community.

Is there a reason you need to work on a Word file instead of directly creating the content as a Confluence page?

I would recommend working directly on Confluence pages because editing and commenting a page at the same time is possible with Confluence, and you won't have the problems of overwriting other people's changes or comments. If you still need the Word document, you can export the finalized page to a Word file.
