This is a disabled user who used to be a system admin. We're managed with AD at this point but looking at his user account it's "Confluence Internal Directory" which is I guess a fallback for if AD broke, he could still get in.
His email address is the same as the administrator email and cloud migration doesn't like that.
So, I need to change his email address. Can't do it from the user directory. "You cannot edit the Full Name or Email fields as you are not using Confluence to manage users" but this is not listed as an AD account.
So, is it sounding like this should somehow be actually an AD thing, despite the system indicating otherwise?
@Gregory Muir The easiest thing to do would be to reactive the account in AD, run a sync in Jira, removed all of the users groups, sync Confluence, disable the account and sync Jira and Confluence again.
That's what was eventually done. Of course we still had knuckleheads who would add new accounts without email addresses and would make the migration tool scream about duplicate email addresses. When they set it up initially they didn't properly segregate Atlassian users from all other active AD users so everything is synced to Atlassian products. Fortunately, it's not screwed up like that in the cloud but we still have to work with the messed up server system until migration is accepted by all parties.
