No RSS Feed since we use SSL

Anne Eichhorn June 20, 2018

Hi guys,

I have some problems with our confluence. Since we use our website with SSL, the RSS Feed doesn´t show up anymore.

Here is the error message:

Konnte den Inhalt der URL nicht laden, weil er von einer unzulässigen Quelle stammt.

https://www.*****.com/1/feed

Whitelist konfigurieren >>

The message is in german and means like it could not load the URL because of an unsafe source. But this is our Blog which is used as source and we did not change the URL except for the new "https URL"

Any ideas?

Hello,

If you are on Confluence server version using RSS Feed Macro then unfortunately, according to the guide:

RSS feeds which require authentication cannot be accessed using the RSS Macro.

Internal RSS feeds from HTTPS enabled Confluence can be redirected to http via firewall rule as described in above guide.

External RSS feeds over HTTPS would also need to be added to Confluence Whitelist

Hope this helps,

Igor

Hello Igor,

thanks for answering.

We have installed the RSS Macro and we also use Confluence Whitelist.

The Whitelist is updated with https-URL. If I enter the correct https-URL, we get a red symbol with an error message like the adress of the URL is not valid.

But the URL in the Confluence Whitelist is correct.

I hope, you can help me.

Best regards,

Anne

Is this external RSS feed or it's the one from the same Confluence instance?

If it's external, then https won't work for it, as outlined above, even with whitelist.

It is an external RSS feed.
