So, when I searched this morning for "usage reports" + "Confluence Cloud", I was immediately taken to the Confluence on-prem page showing me how to just use the site statistics feature. It took me a minute to check was I on "cloud", and I looked up and sure enough, I was on a "Server" doc. So I switched it, and immediately *everything went away* and I was taken to the base of the Confluence Cloud docs center. If you are like me an constantly coming up against how awesome Confluence on-prem is vs. how Confluence Cloud has been reduced to a buggy mess of zero features, then you have encountered the same heartsick feeling I felt when I was redirected to the docs center. IN my experience, every single time this happens, this means there is no reciprocal feature in Confluence Cloud. Ugh. This one, wow! I was not expecting to be missing. But then I found this ridiculousness:
So, if you have Confluence Cloud, and you want basic usage statistics, you either have to pore through and parse your audit logs (that may or may not have even captured the info you need, btw) -OR- you can purchase a third-party app by one of Atlassian's partners or new acquisitions:
This has just gotten insane. Atlassian, either you hate your own Confluence Cloud product, and just have no interest in anyone actually USING the product anymore for anything substantial (Paper or Notion, anyone?) -OR- you just want it to be a money grab. I cant quite figure it out.
That said, this whole no site statistics thing (required by ALL MAJOR cloud platform MSP audits, btw, so that's FUN for MCPs like us), is the cream on the pudding pie. What IT department does not need this information? So, I am choosing to believe there is another reasonable option not mentioned in that little article above for Confluence Cloud users to solve this issue, because there MUST BE. It cannot be "well, there's nothing for you, sorry -- unless you buys some stuff of ours that we could have totally put in our cloud product (because it's in our on-prem version -- along with every other reasonable wiki tool a company might need), but yeah. . . not in this one. But, you know, we love Cloud." This is unacceptable. I expect another option here. The minimalism of your cloud product has gotten out of control. SO lay it on me. What are my actual options to get site statistics natively from the wiki software that we pay you tons of money for?
Hello Charisma,
It's nice to hear from you again. Thank you so much for providing this feedback.
As far as documentation on confluence.atlassian.com goes, any time it says just /doc/ in the URL instead of /confcloud/, then it's safe to assume the documentation is for server versions. You can also check the breadcrumbs at the top if you aren't sure.
As for the current behavior of sending you to Confluence Cloud documentation home, instead of simply telling you that the documentation doesn't apply for Cloud, I have had similar complaints. I've sent feedback to the team right now so that they might consider changing this behavior. By the way, you can also do the same by filling out the request when clicking Provide feedback about this article at the bottom of any article. It will go directly to the team, even if you're just reporting a typo or misinformation.
Now, to answer your questions about analytics.
As you noticed, Good Software is a recent acquisition of Atlassian. Good Software is a member of our Top Vendor Program. This is a designation to say that they meet certain benchmarks for support SLA and reliability. This is left over from the days before the acquisition.
Thanks to the acquisition, we are going to include analytics as a part of the Confluence Cloud Premium access program. You can sign up for the Confluence Cloud Premium Early Access Program to try new product features. Confluence Cloud Premium includes analytics in addition to admin key, a financially backed 99.9% availability SLA, unlimited storage, and Premium support.
Once the analytics is fully integrated into Confluence Cloud, then that entry on Marketplace will be updated.
There are also several free apps in the Atlassian Marketplace that provide a similar integration between Confluence and Google Analytics. For example:
I want to thank you for the feedback you are providing about our Cloud product. We want to make sure that it's right for our users and so we've made it easy to provide feedback to the team that is developing it. I believe I showed this to you in the past, but you can send feedback to the team via your instance. You want to click your avatar in the bottom left-hand corner and select Send feedback and it goes right to the team. There's also a discussion going on at Try out the new editing experience where you can provide feedback directly to one of the product managers about the new editing experience in Cloud.
I hope that helps, but if you have any other questions, please feel free to let me know.
Best regards,
Shannon
Hi Shannon: Can you confirm that Analytics for Confluence is removing the Google Analytics integration on August 1, 2019 and it will no longer be available once it moves to Premium? My organization was hoping to get traffic analytics but this does not seem possible in the current or upcoming offering.

Hello Nicole,
Apologies, as I've been out sick for the last few days and didn't see your reply in time.
Google Analytics will not be part of the premium offering and will be removed from 1 August 2019.
Analytics for Confluence was acquired by Atlassian and will be available in the premium offering.
Thank you for your understanding!
Regards,
Shannon
