Noticed that Tables are no longer able to have columns that are fixed width and sizeable?

Melchior Pinto March 13, 2025

Has there been a change to Confluence Data Centre preventing Tables to be Fixed width Table sizeable.

I have noticed that suddenly tables are only functioning in responsive mode. When I asked the tooling support team in the org, their answer is that Atlassian must have removed that feature.

Can you please advise if Fixed Column Table feature still exists for Data Centre Confluence (Confluence 8.5.4) or is the tooling team in my org just not knowledgeable.

Please advise as this affects alot of confluence pages with tables.

Thanks

M.

Hi @Melchior Pinto

Did they just upgrade Confluence?  Unless they upgraded it, I would not suspect a change of behavior.  However, tables are one of the areas that 'improvements' have been made in.

I wouldn't disparage your tooling team, I'm sure they are the wisest and sharpest available. I would gift them snacks to make it up to them.

Thanks for the input however, that does not answer the original question. Have fixed column sizing been removed from confluence leaving only responsive table sizing ?

I am not trying to disparage tooling team. They may actually not be knowledgeable about the product usage versus how to install / upgrade / maintain the product.  These are two different things.

If I can ascertain if the feature is supposed to be there or not, then I can advise them that something is broken versus the product is acting as it should because the feature was removed.
