I am using the Page Tree Search. I want just the results of the search to be displayed within the same page of the search, right below the search after pressing the search button. As it works now after you press the search button it goes to a completely different page. We have a template and want the user to stay on the same page and have the same look and feel versus going to a new page and losing all the navigation they should have with every page.
Hello Andrena,
The search functionality with Confluence is designed to take you to a new page when you hit enter. This design allows for you to see results and adjust your filters to attempt to target a more accurate result based on date modified, labels, page type, etc...
If you’re wanting to customize the search functionality then we would suggest you review the available marketplace add-ons which add additional features and customization to Confluence. You can find more at Marketplace Search results.
Additionally, if you feel that customized search should be part of Confluence, you are welcome to create a feature request to add this functionality. To Create a request, see Create Feature Request and select suggestion. Ensure you provide enough detail to explain why this feature would be useful along with use cases to application of the feature. If you do create a feature request, please link it back to this post so other may find the request.
I hope this better explains why the search navigates you away from the original page and your available options to customize Confluence.
Regards,
Stephen Sifers
