Panel Macro Needs a Similar Replacement with Additional Functionality

You've deprecated the "Panel Macro", but not replaced it with anything similarly useful.

(No, the "Info Panel" does NOT count as a replacement - that macro is for calling out pieces of info within the body of a text and is in the same class as Warnings, Cautions, or Tips Macros. The Panel Macro enabled you to control background and text color of both a Title Header and the Body within the panel, and didn't have an icon associated with it, so it allowed authors to define its unique intent).

We need to have the simple ability to put a BOX around a section of content (ie. with the option of a border, like the Panel Macro used to have), and control both the vertical and horizontal sizing of said box, constraining the content placed inside it to within those dimensions.

You need to either make it possible to turn a Section into such a visible box, or better yet, just provide us with a Box Macro to draw a border around content.

Ideally, this box should also contain the option of its own internal scroll bar.

Hi Zod,

Good afternoon! Thank you for raising this with Atlassian Community. My name is Shannon, and I'm happy to assist you.

Thank you for providing your feedback about the new panel macro feature. We have an ongoing feature request to bring back the original customization features, which you can vote on and follow:

In the meantime, there are panel apps available on Marketplace which might provide you with an interim solution: Atlassian Marketplace > Confluence apps.

I hope this helps, but let us know if you have any questions.

Take care,

Shannon
