Personal whiteboard -- how come editors can't leave comments

A colleague shared a whiteboard with me, but I can't leave comments on their board. I have Edit permissions and I can see in the floating right-side nav the 'Comment' icon. When I click on it, it says, 'Click anywhere to leave a comment.' However this isn't true, I don't get an option to leave a comment anywhere.

Welcome to the community.

To be able to create comments, you will need to be granted the comment permissions.

This is a different permission on the space, these are not related to the edit permission.

What's the difference between these two options (below in screenshot).

I would think 'edit' would include commenting, but is that not the case? 

If a person can 'view and comment' does that mean they can't edit?

Hi Marc, 

I think I found the issue and it looks like a bug where the permissions I set don't stick.

1. I click share
2. then click the  horizontal 3-dot button
3. Click inspect permissions
4. I type in the user who I want to allow commenting
5. change permissions to v'iew and comment'
6. I see green check mark
7. I come back and do it again, but the changes haven't stuck

Inspect Permissions is to check if a user has certain permissions., based on the drop down, you can differentiate in the permission check.

This s not setting permissions for a user.

To set permissions on a space, you need to be space admin.
