Hi! Is there a way or custom makro to create a link to a specific space based on the user logged in? E.g. I want to create a button on the dashboard with a link to a space or spaces where user has access to it (without using the top navigation) - so the link needs to be user specific created.
Hi Andreas,
Are you a Confluence Could? Or Confluence Server?
If I got your question right you want to customize the create button depending on the user.
Hi,
I am on Confluence Server.
I do not want to customize the create button. I just want to create a link to a space where the user has access to.
Szenario: the user logs in -> user will see the dashboard with a button which links to a specific space the user has access to it. A different user will see the same button but with a link to a different space and so on.
Thank you, Andreas

Hi Andreas,
Why don't you create a menu that will do what you exactly are looking for? It will have only spaces that a user has access to.

It is a design issue: because marketing will have a button on the deshboard - below the naviagtion with: enter your space.

Your project space ENTER button should lead to the corresponding space the user has access to it.

First of all you have a very nice layout!
@Andreas Kollerthat really helps. Once user clicks on Enter do you want him/her to see on the next page a list of spaces he has access to? Or you have one dedicated space for the user?

An option would be to list all spaces here the user has access to it - accept the public spaces (there are 4 of them).

@Andreas KollerOops wrong link, my apology
I also shared your question with other champions waiting for their suggestions. They may comment here directly. I am thinking only some scripting will do what you are looking for but let's make sure may be other Champions will have a different suggestion.

I think the instinct to write a user macro that gives you at least a link to the spaces you can see is right.
I'm sure there's a way to iterate over the list of spaces, check permissions and then create a link to the home page in the space.

The landing page once users log in is the one the user is looking to customize per user. May be he can customize Confluence Dashboard per user which I am not sure if it is feasible

Ah, I see. Confluence can land on one of two places when you first log in. Either the Confluence dashboard (to which I don't think you can add much without doing some core coding), or a specific home page in a space.
If you're using the second, then you could easily put a user-macro on it. I don't think there's much that can be done with the dashboard for this.

@Andreas Koller, Nic's answer is in line with what I would suggest as well. Here are some docs with more details:
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.

Thank you for all the answers and suggestions! I also came to the conclusion a user macro is needed here.
Best regards,
Andreas
