I have an instance of Confluence backed by a Postgres database. When I run 'ps -eaf' I see a large number of Idle connections. I'd like to set idle_in_transaction_session_timeout to try and reduce the number.

The question I have is, what is a generally accepted number of milliseconds? I really don't want to just start picking numbers at random, so I'm hoping other users in the community can say what they are using, OR point me in the direction of tools I might use to figure it out on my own.

Thanks

@Robert Egan I think this would be more contingent on what your thread timeout is set in Confluence confluence.cfg.xml file.  I would also suggest tunning your instance by following the information here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/performance-tuning-130289.html
