Protecting data in a Database

Colin Hewson November 22, 2024

Is there any way to lock individual columns in a database so that you only give access to the fields that you want to open for edit?  For example, I have a large database that has some information that I want protected but in the same databases there are fields for people to provide updates that I want to leave open.

Hi @Colin Hewson ,

No, you can't protect individual elements of a database.  Only the whole database (page) has access restrictions.

Thanks.  Do you know if there are any plans to introduce this feature or would I need to look at the paid for apps?

Unfortunately I don't know of any plans to introduce this feature.

At this moment, Confluence databases offer no API access, so I don't think third party apps can offer this feature.
