Publishing on a cloud confluence instance from a server one using comala publishing

Rita Kumar May 21, 2015

We are considering getting this add on.  Can one publish from confluence server to a confluence cloud version?  If yes, does the cloud then need to have all the same add ons?

Also, is there a way to auto sync without having to hit live each time to publish or is that needed?  We are trying to do a daily sync to update an internal wiki to a partner instance.

Thanks,

Rita

Hi @Rita Kumar,

With Comala Publishing you can only publish on the same Confluence instance. However, you can combine Comala Workflows (paid add-on) with Comala Workflows - Remote Publishing (free add-on) to publish on remote instances. Just make sure that the "Remote API" can be enabled.

Regarding the auto sync, there's no such feature in Comala Publishing. Could you create a ticket in our support system to follow up? I'm interested in your use case.

However, in Comala Workflows, you can use {trigger:pageupdated} to add the ability to immediately remote publish pages (or space publishing) any time a page is updated. This will allow you to automatically sync your partner's instance whenever there is an update in your internal wiki.

Best regards,

Gorka

Thank you that is helpful and I just added the ticket on your website as it would be very helpful for these to auto sync so we can have a separate instance for our partner ecosystem that is automatically updated every 24 hours for example.
