I was wondering if there are people that have found a way to let confluence send an e-mail out to page creators/updaters with the question if they want to update their page, if the page wasn't edited for the last x days. We are looking for this functionality to keep the pages up to date.
Hi Edwin,
There is not an easy 'free' way to do this that I know of, but this add-on hits the nail you're trying to hit head on, including sending emails to the owners of stale pages:

If this is something you are in need of, the cost might be worth the benefits from a clean, updated wiki!
Hope this helps!
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for your reply. I did came across the Archiving plug-in as well, but i thought this was a bit too much for my needs. I'll consider it again.
Kind regards,
Edwin.

Hi Edwin,
please tell us which plug-ins you already have. I did something similar with the CustomWare Reporting plug-in. But I (want to) have some minor manual steps in my process, because I need to have more control. To be honest: A phyisical kick in the ass is more efficient than an automatically generated E-mail which nobody reads, but that depends on the size of your Confluence instance.
Best regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
We don't have the Reporting or Scaffolding plug-in. In fact; we don't have any paid plug-ins on this Confluence instance.
Kind regards,
Edwin.

We are running Confluence 4.3.7, so that's not an option. I've tried version 2.0.0 on 4.3.7, but it doesn't. We'll just consider buying the plug-in.

Note that depending on your version, the earlier pre-commercial version might be an option:

One of the more useful plugins in the market though if you have a lot of content.
