Ability to Reset or Change Password with LDAP

Is there some way to allow a user to change his LDAP password through Confluence? I see conflicting statements that there is not and some that say this works in 3.5+ if the directory is Read/Write. My directory is in fact Read/Write - on Confluence 4.1.5 and there doesn't appear to be any way for users to change their password

Hi Chris!

If you are not allowed to change the LDAP passwords on Confluence, I believe you are experiencing this bug: CONF-23282

You may check in your Logs if there's an error similar to the one shown in the bug. If that's the case I suggest you to vote on the bug so it can prioritize by the devs.

Cheers!

I wish there was an answer to this question as well. We would like to store our users in OpenLDAP because there are better command line utilities to add/delete/modify users in OpenLDAP. But we'd like them to be able to update/retrieve their passwords via Crowd (self-service style).
