I'm looking into the case of using Confluence as a documentation system for medical laboratories (Compliance to ISO 17025, 15189 possibly 9001, 13485 and 27001).
Thus I'm interested in if You know of any such specific implementations of Confluence for reference?
From what I gathered Confluence with addition of Comala Document Management and Scroll Versions would be able to fulfill the requirements by adding sufficient workflows, versioning and signing.
We already use Confluence for IT, architecture and development and of course it could be beneficial and offer synergies from several perspectives to be able to utilize the same system for other use cases in contrast of buying yet another system with similiar features but targeting laboratories specifically.
I look forward to your input. Thanks!
Hello @Patrik Larsson
I hope everything is well!
Maybe you already found the solution that you were looking for, but if not maybe you would be interested in our ready-to-use ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Template for Confluence Cloud that you can find on our online store.
Last year we got certified with ISO 27001 by using this exact template (with some customizations according to our needs of course) and we decided to help other companies ensure their compliance with the standard's requirements as well.
You can also have a look at this article I wrote in the community regarding our ready-to-use space templates, or contact us for any additional help you may need.
I hope this helps you or any other readers who stumble upon your question 🙂
Kind regards,
Sofia
P.S. We also aim to release some more ISO Templates in the next months, so if you have anything particular in mind we will be happy to hear from you!

Hi @Patrik Larsson ,
I'm the Product Marketing Manager at Appfire responsible for Comala Document Management. We've helped many of our customers with their compliance requirements through Comala Document Management and some of our other compatible apps. CDM enables you to create customized, automated workflows and provides the option of adding e-signature requirements when needed.
Along with CDM, we also offer our Comala Publishing app. This app can be integrated with CDM to seamlessly publish approved documents to a dedicated space or Collection(more on that below).
We've also recently added the 'Snapshot Publishing' feature to Comala Publishing, which allows you to capture a static version of a page. This supports the most commonly used Confluence macros, such as Jira and other dynamically generated content.
Snapshots are organized into Collections (another new feature), providing easy access to previous versions and enabling organization outside of Atlassian hierarchies. Collections support both a one-to-many and many-to-one relationship with Snapshots.
Since you are already using Confluence, this would be a great solution for you. We'd love to show you how this will help your use case. You can reach out to our Solution Advisor, Nino Stana, for a demo!
