Add Customers To Group

Ben Mottram September 15, 2021

Hi all,

We have a Knowledge Base on Confluence which we want to provide our customers with View Only access to.

In order to do this, we are looking to create a Confluence Group and assign it View permissions to the space in question.

However, my query relates to how to populate the group. Is there a way we can have it automatically contain all of our Service Desk customers? Or would we have to manually add each one?

Many thanks

Hello @Ben Mottram !

Here's my suggestion. Create a Confluence space just for your customers and allow read-only access for anonymous users so you don't have to worry about registrations and only customers with the Confluence link will have access to the information.

Cheers!

Hi @Roberto Miasack

Thanks for your suggestion. My only concern with that is anybody with the link would then be able to access the articles (we can't control what customers do with the link once they have it)

Essentially, the people we want to restrict it to are people who are within the Service Desk Customers group in JIRA. Is this possible?

Thanks,
Ben

Hi, @Ben Mottram

I understand your concern. I feel that probably only Jira Service Management agent groups can be added to Confluence.

Cheers
