Adding a Table of Contents

Timothy Hatley May 5, 2025

Hello! I am trying to add a Table of Contents to the homepage of my IT support Confluence page. When I try to add a Table of Contents using the Macro, nothing happens (see screenshot). When I type in a header on the same page, it will appear in the ToC, but it won't link to the actual Confluence page that has been created. Can someone help me understand this, please?Screenshot 2025-05-05 143957.png

Hi @Timothy Hatley and welcome to the Community

I think you're looking for Child items / Child pages macro.

You can put it on the Home page AND on any page that has child pages. This speeds up navigation and provides readers with an overview of what to expect in any given section.

You can customize the macro to show specific number of levels, etc.

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for the help @Kristian Klima

Update: It seems like the ToC only works for the specific page that it is included in. Is there a way to create a general ToC for the entire space?
