After removing all group permissions, cannot add group permissions back

After adding individual permissions, and removing all group permissions from a space,

we cannot add group permissions back, nor do anything with the space.

When trying to add a group to the space we get:

Your request could not be processed because a required security token was not present in the request. You may need to re-submit the form or reload the page.

Other spaces behave correctly

Apparently the confluence upload attachment limit was reduced to 6k, and that caused the problem with changing permissions.
