Atlassian Stash just not understanding Active Directory nested groups

Brian Bircham July 9, 2013

Hello

Can anyone tell me if they're got their Atlassian Stash working correctly with nested groups? I have the option enabled but when I use a group that has subgroups containing users in the user filter, I can not authenticate. Additionally, using the top group in the group filter does not pull any users when syncing. When I add the group contained within the top group directly and synchronise, it works fine, as does authentication. It seems to me that Stash just does not support the nested groups

Hi Brian,

I'd suggest creating a support request at https://support.atlassian.com as this issue might need some further investigation. Please attach your Stash debug logs: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/STASH/Stash+debug+logging as well as an LDAP LDIF for the nested group and user that fails to appear in Stash after a sync. A screenshot of your LDAP configuration in Stash will also help.

Thanks,

Gurleen

I didn't get an answer if anyone has got it working or not. In this case, raising a support request is the only option
