We moved away from @targeting a group within our blog as we got a warning about groups over 100 people not being able to send notifications for @targeting.

We wrote an automation, that on publishing a Blog, we send an email with that group BCC'd

However, no one is getting the emails that are pushed out.

I need to notify all users of Confluence of a new blog.
could utilized a separately managed DL - however, the whole point is if you're a member of Confluence ( what this group is for ) then you get updates.

The Better Content Archiving app has feature to every sort of content lifecycle use cases. It offers flexible notifications (short video tutorial), too, which could be used to solve this problem!

Steps:

  1. Add a new notification to a notification scheme:
    1. use your custom schedule (e.g. every morning)
    2. use a CQL that finds the recently published blog posts (if you run this daily, then search for the blog type contents created in the last 24 hours)
    3. choose the Confluence group as recipient
    4. use a custom notification email template
  2. Apply the notification scheme to the spaces where you want this notification (it can be all spaces, of course)

Hi - as I have also found out, it only does a max of 50 emails via automation. Its a known limitation
