BUG: How do I remove deleted incomplete action items from a Task report?

I have deleted incomplete task items that are being pulled into a task report that filters to incomplete tasks. 

When I attempt to mark these action items as 'complete' (checkbox = TRUE) in the published task report, I receive an error message (see image below) 

I am unable to mark the action items as complete in the original pages because the tasks no longer exist. 

It seems to be a bug and would like support to assist me in eliminating the tasks labeled as 'Topic 1' or 'Topic 2'. 

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Workaround found.

Steps:

• Copy the pages where the deleted incomplete action items 'reside' in.
• Remove any action items that you do not intend to keep
• Click 'Publish' 
• Have an admin or someone who has delete access to delete the original page.
• Rename the 'copy' page to the original name of the now deleted page (remove 'Copy of' in the name)
• Validate that the 'incomplete' action items are no longer in the task report.
