Blogging in Confluence seems very limited, is that correct or did I miss something?

The Blog feature of Confluence seems very limited. To me it looks like it is only a predefined navigation item in the sidebar. Is that correct?

Here a some things I miss:

1. a page that actually shows blog posts in reverse chronological order. Or from a specific year, month or author.
2. option to change the look of a blog, like apply a theme and give it a title.
3. tag posts and filter blog posts by them.
4. specific templates. For example to add posts without a title to create something like a Twitter stream. Or a template to focus on photos.

Hi Rob, 

the "blog posts" macro can solve your issues in 1. and 3.

Re 2.   If you create a space for blogging only, you can change its look.

Re 4.  yes, you'd need to get add-ons, there are some in the marketplace that may help you.

Thanks for the info.

With a separate space, that whole space will have the same look, I think. I was looking for a way to change the blog only, for example the blog of a personal space.

I guess I expected the software to provide more features.

I'm by no means an expert in how to change the look of spaces. There may by some css magic to do what you want. You may want to search what you can do using the Look and Feel section in the Space Tools.
