Branding and customization

Is it possible to customize the appearance of the entire space or individual pages in Confluence? If so, how to do it? Do we need to download a plugin from the atlassian marketplace or is there another way? When exporting a space to html using the scroll html exporter plugin, will the page's appearance also be exported? We need to do branding of spaces for each of our clients. Looking forrward for your reply.

If your company is on Confluence Premium, you can use some built-in design elements from the Company Hub, as Nikola mentioned. However, if it is not, or if you want advanced branding, you will have to consider apps from the Atlassian Marketplace. My team has created one such app — Mosaic. It helps create designed and structured pages that align with your brand guidelines. To get inspiration and see what you can achieve with it, you can check its template library. Some of them are on creenshot under.

Great question — and welcome to the Confluence world!

If you're looking to visually customize individual pages or entire spaces (especially with unique branding for each client), then yes — you'll want to use an app from the Atlassian Marketplace.

As @Nikola Perisic pointed out, Aura Beautiful Formatting Macros is designed exactly for this.
With Aura, you can:

interactive cards ...

the color that fits your brand ...

The easiest way is to use a so called theme app from Marketplace.

They come in all shape and sizes and for various use-cases.

• Scroll Viewport by K15t
• Mantra and Aura by Appanvil
• Spacecraft by Seibert
• Refined Sites by Refined
• Instant websites by Glintech

We're using Scroll Viewport for our public product documentation - https://docs.emplifi.io/ 

One of the reasons is that Viewport does not require you to open your Confluence space for anonymous viewing (the only other app that can do that is Instant Websites).

If you need to control access to a Viewport site, you can do so with SSO, independently of Confluence seats.

You can create as many sites as you want (one for each client), deploy individual brandings, multple domains, collect Google Analytics on each, etc.

As @Kristian Klima recommended, the Spacecraft plug-in specialises in theming and transforms standalone Confluence spaces or pages into professional, public-facing sites that reflect a brand's identity.

• You can generate multiple public sites using content from your Confluence instance. When setting up a new site, you can include one or more Confluence spaces—and add more at any time. Each site would have its own navigation bar, giving you full control over how users navigate your content.

• To elevate the look and feel of your pages even further, you can use content formatting macros from Aura and/or Karma(free) to create beautifully styled, brand-aligned pages. Here's an example of the result:

You can create a Company hub that you can customize and that can lead you to the affiliated resources. Another thing that you can use is Karma free edition of the app that can customize your pages into more interactive pages.

When you go to the home page of Confluence there is an option of Company hub. When you click it, it will ask you to create the company hub where the default template will be set up that you can customize by your needs: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/create-and-customize-a-company-hub/

If you only want to customize your pages, best app for free is Karma that let you to create interactive pages.
