We are searching for a way that a breadcrumb is build up and available based on the pages that live in different spaces and the user has visited from a certain starting point.
We use Confluence as product document system where different teams manages their own information in their own space. As we don't want to replicate this information and re-use this information as the trusted source and point and let people navigate to the relevant pages (that can live in different spaces) via an overview page (aka portal) to allow them to hop to the right page.
As these pages can also contain links to other pages it can be hard to return to a page somewhere in the path they followed. It is even hard to return to the page where they started.
I know that search is an option and just using the browser backward button, but for easier navigation across spaces and pages this seems more user friendly.

Good day Mr. Koster, and welcome to the community!

At the moment, I am not aware of a navite functionality or third-party app that is capable of fulfilling your request.

Within the native functionality, I can observe the "Recently Viewed" section could provide you a trail history without "redirecting" for another page. Likewise, the section "Pick where you left off" could help, but this one does need to redirect the user.

If your team considers third-party apps, we could suggest reviewing our app "Subspace Navigation for Confluence," which could help your team maintain important links that are always available and which is present across pages and spaces for your users, simplifying the navigation, especially among complex structures.

With friendly regards
Rodrigo
