Hi
We starting to use confluence for some WIKI's at work and would like to add a shared drive to the confluence search index. We find it hard finding info as there are many Documents in this shared drive and hope we could use the confluence search to find the info. I know if we attach a file and search for info on confluence it list the file that contains it. Can this be done with done with documents not attached but on a shared drive?
Hello Isa,
The short answer to this question is no. Or rather, not in a way that I am familiar with. There may be a third party plugin to perform this operation, but a quick search of our markplace does not return any fruitful responses.
Confluence is only aware of the content you upload in to it. You could do a bulk upload of the content of your shared network drive into Confluence, but it would create another copy of all of those documents and changes to your network drive would not be mirrored into Confluence.
Thanks Daniel

Hi Isa,
Yes, you can indeed do this with the "Infinidex" plugin from Atlassian Marketplace (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/dk.translucent.atlassian.confluence.infinidex), which indexes network shares and other drives and makes them searchable (and the files reachable) within Confluence.
Best,
Thomas (Translucent - developers of Infinidex)
