Can I search in two Confluence instances at once?

ben gold January 29, 2019

I'm already using Confluence as my KB for Customer Success, with loads of troubleshooting articles.

I'm considering moving my documentation over to Confluence as well. For obvious reasons of cost, the way I'd like to implement it is with two Confluence instances: One stripped down with the minimum of add-ons for Customer Success, one souped up with the maximum of add-ons for Documentation.

But I can't do this if there's no way to search in one place within both instances. Any ideas how this can be affected?

Seems like currently there’s no a simple solution to do than unless you decide to implement something custom via the REST API.

There a lot of discussion related to this case e.g. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/Linking-two-discrete-Confluence-Instances/qaq-p/206944

Cheers,

Boris
