If so, where can I go to find out what methods are available and how to do the conversion?
We have a fair amount of DITA content in an SDL repository that I want to convert to Confluence. Because I can't find a DITA-to-Confluence tool, my thought is to export the DITA as HTML and then convert that standard HTML into Confluence HTML.
We cannot use Confluence macros because that solution is extremely awkward and far too manual, from what I can tell.
In the end, I want to automate the entire process from the SDL repository to a Confluence site.
Sincerely,
Jerry Pope
Hi Jerry,
The Confluence REST API doesn't convert content that you're using as your payload; it would only allow us to create new or manipulate existing data in Confluence.
If you need to import from your DITA/SDL environment into Confluence, we'll need a way to convert its data into a format that would be compatible in Confluence and then could be 'imported' in with the REST API.
Found this DITA Converter app on the Atlassian Marketplace; this option might be easier as it appears to add functionality within Confluence rather than having to manually run REST API calls. Reviewing it's documentation, it allow you to Import a DITA Zip File but only into an older version of Confluence (5.8.18). You could import your DITA data into Confluence 5.8.18 and then upgrade it directly to the latest version.
Looking at a few other Community Posts that reference importing DITA int Confluence, the Universal Wiki Converter 3rd Party Tool as another way to convert other Wiki data into something that is Confluence compatible.
