Hi,
I created a space for a user and gave them all the permissions to it. I also created a group to manage who had permissions to the space.
Is there a way for me grant a specific user permissions to a user to allow him to manage the group themselves instead of constantly waiting for me to update the group. The group changes often and if I could grant him the permissions to manage the group themselves, it would cut down on the waiting they have to do.
The only thing I can think of doing is making them an administrator of the site but that is a bit much just so he can manage a group and I'd rather not give too much power to a user.
I looked and googled for a solution but can't seem to find one. If you have ideas on how to do this, let me know.
Thank you
Pierre

Unfortunately this is not possible, you cannot grant permissions to a user to manage a group in confluence, only system admins can do it.
In your case, you can simply make that user a space admin so that he can manage the access permissions within that space like adding users/groups and grant specific permissions to them within that space.

Kishan Sharma,
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
If I make him a space admin (I'll have to figure out how to do this later), will this allow him to edit and manage other spaces or just his own?
If I can restrict to only his space, I'd fine with that.
Also, please accept my apologies if those are simple questions, I'm really new to Confluence.
Thank you
P.

No worries Pierre. Yes if you make that user space admin, he will be able to manage that particular space only and not the others. Refer this link on how you can grant the user space admin permission.
