A table with fixed structure is used with all but 1 column as variable. The variable column depends on the answers to a couple of questions. Can we have a template where depending upon the answers to question the table is auto-populated ?

Like having different forms based on the table options type and save them as templates..
But I think you are trying to use a template to change the values inside a table based on the form values itself..
Can you shed more light on the use case ?
I think your assessment is correct. An example could an architecture doco, where if a certain endorsed pattern is used then the table can be pre-populated accordingly. A specific example -
Question - What user authentication pattern is used ?
Ans- You could have 2 options - SAML; On premise Active Directory.
Based on the answer - we could populate a column of the table which can be multiple row. But the data for both options is pre-defined.
