Today, I suddenly lost the ability to paste images from windows clipboard data into Confluence. This is killing my workflow, because I am a designer and I depend on that feature hundreds of times a day.
I've seen this problem using 2 different computers on 2 different confluence setups (one self-hosted, one cloud). Where previously I could just copy image data from any other program and seamlessly paste right into Confluence with just a simple Ctrl-V, now, Ctrl-V (and clicking the mouse option 'paste') does nothing except return this error from the Chrome console:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'upload' of undefined
at Object.pasteFromEvent (com.atlassian.confluence.plugins.confluence-paste:paste-resources.js?locale=en-GB:8)
at Object.onPaste (com.atlassian.confluence.plugins.confluence-paste:paste-resources.js?locale=en-GB:7)
at Editor.<anonymous> (com.atlassian.confluence.plugins.confluence-paste:paste-resources.js?locale=en-GB:6)
at Dispatcher.dispatch (com.atlassian.plugins.tinymce:atlassian-rte-javascript-tinymce-core.js:17)
at b (com.atlassian.plugins.tinymce:atlassian-rte-javascript-tinymce-core.js:331)
at DOMUtils.<anonymous> (com.atlassian.plugins.tinymce:atlassian-rte-javascript-tinymce-core.js:332)
at HTMLBodyElement.e (com.atlassian.plugins.tinymce:atlassian-rte-javascript-tinymce-core.js:164)
Images copied directly from another confluence page seem to paste correctly, but images copied from other external programs do not and generate the above error.
I'm betting this a bug introduced by a new change in Confluence, because this old thread suddenly started getting a lot of activity today: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/47487707
P.S - It took me FIVE different attempts to successfully post this question. The first 4 times I got errors about 'Not Allowed' or 'Something went wrong'. Seems like another problem to look into... ;-p
Hi Nick,
As it looks like you're on Cloud, you should file a support issue with Atlassian. From the other question you linked to, it looks like you're on Windows 10 using Chrome (include this in your support request). Answers is largely community-maintained and this looks like it is a bug with the latest Cloud release - only Atlassian will be able to help there.
Here's a quick drill-down into the support request to use: https://support.atlassian.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/23/create/185
Cheers!
My computer has been same issue. The OS is Windows 10, and the browser uses Chrome, IE, and so forth.
