Can't play a WMV file

Hi,

I am new on Confluence and tried to upload a WMV file using the "Multimedia Macro". However, I can't play the video which opens with VLC. I tried on Mozilla, I.E and Chrome with no success.

Do you have an idea?

Hi Clarisse,

You didn' mention which version of Confluence you are using but I suspect you may be encountering this bug with WMV files not playing when embedded in Confluence pages: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-27581

If this is the case then the workaround is to try converting the file into one of the other supported file formats and embedding it into the page in that format instead, (at least until the bug is fixed). Is anyone else encountering this bug uisng Internet Explorer? I can play mp4 files in any browser, but wmv is a complete no-show across both Chrome and IE11.
