For example :
In our industry a gearbox can also be called an oil tank, gearcasing or transmission. We try to standardise with labels, but some documents /people use other names for the same purpose. In the search function we miss out this data. Our (new) users do not have the knowledge of these synonyms and therefor I would like to add these in the standard search functionality as an admin.
Any help or suggestions are welcome!
Hello @[deleted] ,
with iFinder Confluence Search you are able to add your own synonyms. (Thank you @Hana Kučerová ). The synonyms then appear to the searcher when typing the search query and can be activated for this search.
This is one of many features in our search solution for Confluence. These articles might be interesting for you:
Of course I am at your disposal for questions, demo sessions, etc.
Best regards

Hi @[deleted] ,
welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Unfortunately I don't think it is possible without some additional application. I've found one, but I've never tested it myself.
I like your approach with the labels. Maybe you can also create some page with these synonyms for your users to be able to find, which word they should use?

Because you can't really do this, you could add a table near the top of the page template where you ask for alternate terms. Because this is just text on the page, Confluence Search will then index the words. It won't index labels in the same way, as they're used for filtering search results.
